FAQs
What is a Brazilian?
It's a style of hair for the pubic region. A classic Brazilian originally was a French bikini - a very thin strip, down to the nether-regions. Today, the Brazilian refers to having the Full Monty done - everything gone or bare, maybe a patch or thatch of hair left. It's all preference.
I shaved. How long do I need to wait before I get my hair removal?
It's best to wait about two weeks after shaving for the perfect hair length for removal. Most of the hair will be exposed for an efficient treatment.
Do I need to trim before my visit?
For best results, keep the hair about 1/2" long maximum for any medium: strip wax, hard wax, or sugaring. Yes, hard wax and sugar can get hair shorter than a grain of rice BUT for efficiency and optimum results - 1/2" is best... no longer than 1/2". You may use personal trimmers to prepare for your service. Trimming will cost extra if you get it done in the studio by the technician.
FEMALES | The Brazilian removes the hair from the pubic region, the labia, and perianal area. This does not include the glutes and will not extend more than 3" outside of the bikini line.
FEMALES | Can I get a Brazilian during my period?
Yes, just wear your tampon or cup, etc. There are amenities to help you refresh before and after your service. You will be more sensitive and recovery may take a bit longer because of that time of the month. Follow post-treatment guidelines for ideal results.
Can I work out or do outdoor activities immediately after?
It is recommended not to. You need to have a good amount of recovery time and you should follow Post-treatment Guidelines for peak results. Wait about 24-72 hours before doing anything rigorous or anything which may trigger excessive body heat and sweating. Keep the area as clean as possible during this downtime.
Will it hurt? Yes. Removing the hair using wax or sugar is not entirely pain-free. Your technician is highly skilled and experienced in this arena: there are varying techniques used to help make this process more bearable! Trust the process and follow Preparation Guidelines for the best experience possible.
Schedule maintenance visits. To put this bluntly: the less trees in the forest, the less pain. Frequent visits help to keep the cycles of hair in check, making it easier to tolerate per visit. Make sure to prebook your future appointments to stay on schedule - a once-a-month visit will suffice.
